hi, I am monica :)
Born in Salem MA, I grew up exploring the beach and the mountains. After receiving my 500-HR certification, I started teaching classes in NYC and New Jersey. I learned that we all struggle to find stillness, balancing the chaos of the external world and inside workings of our mind⋆。°✩
Being the eldest daughter & first one in my family born in America, I struggled with balancing my chaos with my peace“Can’t sit still” and “can’t shut up” were common themes on my report cards. Always curious and restless, Young Monica eventually found peace in movement: track, cross country, soccer and dance. A former athlete and dancer, I love blending dynamic yoga sequences with movement that feels fun
Raised in a traditional Khmer household, I grew up going to the Theravada Buddhist Temple where I naturally learned Sanskrit, meditation, chants, Buddhist scriptures and how to honorably hold space around monks. I love introducing Sanskrit, the Sutras and Niyamas in my classes, weaving it into my dharma talks
To honor my roots and introduce more mindfulness elements in my classes, I studied the Bhagavad Gita & The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali to become certified in yoga philosophy

Off the mat, I work in advertising where I’ve integrated mindfulness into the desk job world
I’ve planned corporate wellness events and continuously mentor young professionals. Teaching classes that can bring both grounding and opening Vinyasa elements, I invite students to go deeper into their physical bodies while honoring their mind and soul’s energetic output
Thank you for stopping by :)
with love, monica
